Decisions, decisions
I'm excited to share with everyone that I'm graduating in just about 75 days! The popular and dreaded question, "what are your plans post graduation?"
I started this blog as an outlet to share some of my original card designs. Since then, I've realized that my occasional arts and crafts project, that I do around holidays and birthdays, have become something (a skill perhaps) that I'd like to improve at.
To me, college is definitely a place to grow and a time to figure out what it is I want to do with my life. Although I am pleased with the track I've been on for the past four years, I wish I had known my interest in design would become stronger. After taking a design course and getting the opportunity to explore some of its different aspects, I've discovered that this may be something I really want to pursue...
Because it's too late to declare a double major I've been thinking about enrolling in an art school to do a continuing studies program in graphic and or web design. Maybe get a certificate? Maybe this could even help me in landing my dream job whether at Hallmark or my own card shop?
Since I am a novice at all this art stuff, I'd love suggestions on where I should apply!
Thanks world.
Always creating,
Lalita

Happy Valentine's Day
Some say it's a commercial holiday, and many who argue that are probably correct. Walk into any store and you'll see isles of pink and red filled with chocolates, teddy bears, and greeting cards. Turn on the television and you may be bombarded with jewelry commercials. While I am a believer that love should be shared everyday and not just once a year, I also am a hopeless romantic who enjoys all the cliches of this holiday. However, I know not everyone believes in valentine's day and not everyone believes in finding love.

Whether you're in a relationship or single I think it is important to remember that love comes in many forms and that people should be free to love whomever they choose and that everyone deserves to be loved.
Maybe share a smile with a stranger or make a card for someone in your class or work people might find weird. It just may be possible to turn a non believer into a believer.
Valentine's Day is tomorrow so make sure to remind your family, friends, and significant others how much they mean to you. Also, what a perfect time for some homemade cards..
Happy Valentine's Day to everyone! Please be kind to one another.
